A synaesthetic family synergy
What is more beautiful than a synesthetic creation in a state of flow? Certainly the synergy of multiple synesthetic creations by brother and sister.
We are therefore very excited to announce that Quynh’s brother, Dr. William Quoc Minh Vu, has begun composing intro songs for her paintings.
Every song is composed in a different key. He starts with G major and ends with G minor. This results in 10 songs; one song for each key between G major and G minor in alphabetical order.
William dedicates the album to God, which is also reflected thematically in the music.
The project’s statement:
“In a world often characterized by fast-paced living and superficial trends, it is a true gift to experience a creative partnership based on deep trust, vision, and courage. My brother and I are not only partners in art and music, but also in the unfolding of a synaesthetic journey that inspires us to think beyond the boundaries of the known.
The music he composes for my artwork and the art I create form a dialogue that is much more than the sum of its parts. Our collaboration is an experiment in authenticity and an act of creation deeply rooted in our shared understanding of beauty, transformation, and spirituality.
Our project, which begins with the choice of G minor and ends in G major, is not just a musical journey—it is a journey of healing and growth. The ten songs between these two keys represent the different stages of transformation and the spiritual path we walk as individuals and as siblings. The music is our prayer, the art our manifesto.
We believe that true art is not only an expression of emotion, but a dialogue with the divine, with the world, and with ourselves. In this project, we want to make the fusion of music and art tangible as a space for healing transformation and spiritual growth. It is not just about creating works that are aesthetically appealing, but about opening up spaces where deeper truths and inner connections can be felt.
The choice to dedicate this project to God comes not only from a place of spirituality, but also from a deep trust in what emerges when we devote ourselves to art and music—allowing ourselves to be guided by something greater. Each of the ten songs that accompany our journey could be understood as a reflection of the divine in its diverse and often unexplored forms. Just as the universe reveals its infinite facets, so too do music and art reveal themselves in ever new dimensions.
The collaboration between my brother and me is not only about creative creation, but also about what defines us as human beings and siblings: supporting, inspiring, and trusting each other. Our creative process is a reflection of our shared values: We work as a team, combining light and shadow, masculinity and femininity, intellect and emotion. Art and music are not separated, but merge into a harmonious whole.
We are aware that this project not only reflects our own growth, but also has the potential to enable others to embark on a similar journey—a journey that seeks deeper truth in the connection between art, music, and spirituality and expands the horizons of what is possible.
The journey we embark on with our art and music is a journey of faith—in ourselves, in our creativity, and in the transformative power that resides in each of us. And just like the melodies we create and the colors we bring to the canvas, it is ultimately the invisible connections that constitute the true depth of our creation.”
